Established back in 1974, our team of architects and technologists enable you to draw upon a wealth of collective experience across many sectors. Sustainability
Our mission is to drive forward sustainable change through designs that embody collective innovation and integrity. By adopting the approach from the RIBA Sustainable Outcomes Guide, and guidance from LETI and UKGBC, we take an active role at the beginning of each project to help it stay ecologically sound through purposeful and intelligent design. Our team has a thorough understanding of the environmental frameworks currently available in the UK, and latest thinking and lessons learned are shared through our in-house Sustainability group.
Meeting the UK’s climate targets requires collaboration and determination. As the transition to net zero gains pace, we are delivering some pioneering retrofit projects to achieve net zero carbon in operation, as well as designing schemes from scratch using a fabric first, whole-life approach.
Ensuring the health and wellbeing of our staff and providing agile working is very important to us, as is reducing our carbon footprint as individuals and as a practice.

Social responsibility is embedded in our values and underpins way we nurture our staff, improve outcomes for communities, and drive sustainable change.
As an ethical practice we carefully select commissions that will have a positive social, economic and environmental impact. Social objectives are an inherent part of the design process, and we aim to create beneficial outcomes by engaging with stakeholders and communities early on.

We support the development of resilient communities by creating employment opportunities and work placements. Our CSR programme has been designed to inspire the next generation of architects through our “The Future is Green Scheme” aimed college pupils and architecture students.

At Lawray, we pride ourselves on being a single practice that just happens to sit in different locations – be that three studios or 40 home offices.
