Life on expedition will place Hollie in situations that cannot be replicated in the classroom or at home. Challenging to take on new adventures outside comfort zones which will build confidence and resilience, allowing to shape her identity as well as gaining a greater understanding of the wider world.
Working alongside local people on sustainable projects will provide a unique opportunity to integrate with new cultures, speak new languages, make new and lasting friendships, and improve leadership and team-working skills.
Hollie will experience Kenya's warm, welcoming culture on this immersive expedition, working on sustainable projects with local people, and helping to support the local community, wildlife and environment.
Getting to know the inspiring Mamas of the local village who will teach traditional skills, meeting the world-famous Maasai Tribe and experience the magic of a safari at Tsavo East National Park – one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations.
Many local schools are in very dilapidated buildings which suffer from erosion and seasonal flooding. Hollie will be helping to build or renovate school buildings so that local children have a clean and safe academic environment. There will be opportunities to get involved in initiatives that promote a peaceful co-existence between the community and the local wildlife, such as improving natural waterholes and planting indigenous trees for habitat and food sources.
Embarking on an adventure with real impact on one of East Africa’s most amazing destinations. Living and working alongside local people and getting involved in a range of sustainable projects, from community development to environmental conservation.
Hollie will be working on a range of projects throughout her expedition, each aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and designed to make a significant and lasting impact on the region’s most critical issues.
This is definitely going to be such a worthwhile trip for Hollie and we are very excited to be able to help her on her way.
Good luck Hollie and safe travels!
