Newport
The project
Working with Knights Brown Lawray was commissioned from RIBA Stage 4 to deliver a plasterboard manufacturing facility in the Port of Newport for ABP.
Lawray fully coordinated the design with the user’s fitout requirements in mind. The new facility will receive, and store shipped deliveries eliminating the need to transport the raw materials from the port to an in-land factory by road, helping to ABP Plasterboard Factory Newport reduce CO2 emissions.
The factory will benefit from green power generated by ABP’s on-site renewables, including wind and solar sources.
The contract comprises:
• 123,139.13 sq ft manufacturing & storage
• 16,156.63 sq ft bulk material storage
• 9676.75 sq ft calcification plant shed
• 81,80.57 sq ft canopy & hard standing
• 6695.15 sq ft offices
