Eaton Place
London
The project
Eaton Place was a complex conservation scheme that involved a high degree of co-ordination between Planner, Heritage Officer, Architect and Interior Designer. Given Lawray’s experience in the Prime Residential sector, we were commissioned to upgrade and support the full renovation of two luxurious Grade II Listed apartments.
Award-winning recognition
Given the building’s heritage, it was essential this high-end refurbishment was handled with sensitivity and care. As it happened, the fitout undertaken by Fenton Whelan, went on to achieve an International Design and Architecture Award in 2018.
Conserving and enhancing
The scope involved a full refurbishment and reconfiguration of the internal spaces and increased ceiling height. It also included the relocation of a Triplex staircase that created a grand uplifting experience upon entering the property. This was seen as a bold, positive move by the Conservation Planning team, who supported the move, as was the replacement of an existing 1980s roof-top extension that conflicted with the Grade II listing.
After having been left in such a neglected state, we’re proud to have brought the property back to one of architectural merit and a grandeur befitting its address – situated just across from Eaton Square.
