Oyster Wharf
Swansea
The project
We were approached by a major West Wales-based contractor T Richard Jones Ltd (TRJ) to support them with the detailed design stage of this iconic scheme in the picturesque town of Mumbles, Swansea. Working closely alongside design teams like Nextcolour and TRJ, our brief was to take the client’s vision through to completion.
Fast-moving timescales
The busy sea-fronted village of mumbles is recognised as the jewel of Swansea Bay and a gateway to Gower. Nextcolour Developments’ vision was to create a centrepiece that would benefit locals and draw visitors to Mumbles and Swansea Bay. Due to a fast-moving programme and deadline for tenants to occupy, we were required to make a significant impact on the detail from day one.
Iconic Art Deco façade
As well as introducing new and improved facilities, Oyster Wharf also included the renovation and integration of existing buildings into the project – such as the Tivoli building, a focal point of this exciting development. The refurbishment of the iconic Art Deco façade has transformed and prominent frontage, while preserving its historical and cultural heritage.
