Torch Theatre
The Torch Theatre was established in 1977 as one of the only building-based producing theatres in Wales. An iconic venue within Milford Haven, Lawray was approached to rejuvenate the original theatre, extend its capacity and reposition it at the heart of the community.

Access for all
As well as creating a new 300-seat main theatre and a 102-seat studio theatre, we were tasked with developing a bespoke art gallery and exhibition spaces. To complement all that space, we also created a new restaurant, foyer and reception facilities.
To help attract all members of the community, we updated accessibility. New layouts addressed Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements and circulation routes, allowing everybody to experience The Torch, no matter what their capabilities.
A beacon for the arts
Since its completion in 2010, the building has become a beacon, bringing arts and culture to the local community. It has attracted visitors from across the country, providing a warm welcome for those wishing to enjoy the arts and to socialise.
