Tidal Lagoon
Lawray was invited to act as architects for Andrew Scott Ltd, the successful bidder for the development of the new turbine manufacturing and pre-assembly plant (TMP). This would be the first building associated with the world’s first tidal lagoon power plant.
Future headquarters
Although hope was lost in 2020 when the project was not supported by the UK Government, it is still hoped that the scheme will be revisited in the near future.
Outstanding potential
The design was based heavily on suitability and was reviewed against key parameters, including the Well Standards and needed to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating. The simple three-storey façade, divided by simple forms including glazing and timber panels, offered a focal point for visitors and staff.
