Countryside Residence

This challenging project situated just outside London within many acres of idyllic countryside, called upon Lawray’s super prime residential experience. Although very different to the palatial town houses of London’s Belgravia and Kensington Palace Gardens, this secluded listed country house still necessitates the highest level of expertise and very best attention to detail that Lawray Architects offers and provides.

The Brief

The project brief referred not only to the main country house, but also to the varying outhouses, staff accommodations, garage and stables on the estate. Lawray was involved in all aspects of architectural design including sensitive Heritage and Planning issues, space planning of the estate, change of use, renovation and refurbishment. The high quality use of materials and designs ensured this distinguished property was deserving of the client’s high profile status and expectations.

Our Solution

The brief and deadlines associated with such high profile projects always commands a level of proficiency and dedication to succeed and in appointing Lawray, you have that level of experience within the super prime arena. This means we are not afraid to lead or support client representatives towards the end goal. For this project, we as architects, supported an international team of consultants from the US, Canada, and Europe and our unique skills of design and co-ordination were both productive and invaluable to all. Our ability and informed honest approach towards problem solving ensured programmes and budgets remained on track.

I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to comment on the contribution made by Lawray Architects to the recently completed Combined Services Centre in Llandrindod Wells. As lead consultants on a project with three separate stakeholders, their role was always going to be challenging. I was however, very impressed by the professional manner in which they succeeded not only in delivering a quality final product, but also in balancing with skill and patience the competing demands of their three ‘clients ’throughout both the planning and construction phases of the project. From a Dyfed Powys Police perspective, we were very satisfied with the design solutions offered and the ensuing facilities have received complimentary comments from the occupants
