The Terraces Penthouse


Queens Terrace is a prominent address in Westminster, London. We were brought in to extend the existing seven storey mansion block with the aim of creating a beautiful new home for our client.

The Brief

Our brief was to design an additional two penthouse apartments that totalled 4500 sq ft, creating an additional long-term investment for our client in the form of the second penthouse extension.

Our Solution

For this project, we took inspiration from the original external art-deco style of the building, replicating its features closely with the flowing large brick bands continuing as part of the extension.

Using this approach allowed us to successfully secure support from the Planning Authority as it kept the aesthetics to historic accuracy.

From a building perspective, it allowed us to maximise the use of the existing roof space, giving a subtle opportunity to introduce a modern intervention internally. We gave the client luxurious living spaces and the inclusion of large panoramic windows which created fantastic views across the city of London.
